Hi Guys,
Can someone help me in explaining how the slide stop in the screw compressor work(for capacity control).i have some idea abt slide valve.

The action of a slide valve is to release the gas drawn into the compressor and trapped between the rotor and casing and return it to the inlet before the compression starts.

Typically the unloader (either slide valve or turn valve) can only unload a portion of inlet stream. This portion ranges by manufacturer from 40% to almost 90%. One seldom-referenced consequence of using an unloader is that it changes the VI upward (since the screw sees a larger inlet plenum). A higher VI will tend to require somewhat more hp for a given compressor load.
