Is anyone aware of published loads for tension & shear of a self tapping screw into aluminum similar to the ones available for screwing into steel?

I'm trying to avoid the redundant calculations pull out, pull through, etc. Any suggestions will help.

Thanks

I haven't seen tables such as those for wood or steel. The Aluminum Design Manual has a couple of equations in section 5.4 for the clacs of such a connection though. Also, watch your materials mix for corrosion issues.

AAMA TIR-A9-1991 "Metal Curtain Wall Fasteners"

The above publication has tables for 6063-T5 and 6063-T6

Keep in mind that the AAMA document is quite old and arguably out of date in some regards. Take a look at the following link for a relevant post I made on Seaint a few months ago. You may or may not want to consider what the current Aluminum Design Manual has to say about material properties, safety factors, etc.

Thanks for the imput
