I am looking to build a scissor lift mechanism for a table that would have the mechanism back in a machine (clear under lift table area) with the floating work area out in front. I am wondering about designing a half (only a single side) of a scissor lift table and balancing it with a set of linear rails. Has anybody done anything like this? Max capacity would be about 500 Lbs (designed for 1000 lbs though).
