Can anyone tell me how to access additional scientific symbols for use in formula when giving formula discription in MS Excel.
At present I am limited to the ASCE codes using [alt] and numberpad keys.

Use the "Insert Symbol" feature in MS Word. Cut out of Word and paste into Excel.

Thank you for the information - appreciated

Will do the "Symbol insert" from Word, but how does one use Character Map...

another option is to insert the equation itself as an object.

from menu, select: Insert-Object

Select: Create New Tab

Scroll to: MS Equation and Select OK.

All symbols + plus many more are present. There is a bit of a learning curve.
Good Luck!

Character map is usually found the start menu Accessories or System Tools. It allows you to view the individual characters for the installed fonts, which you can then copy and paste into your application.
