scale sketch differently in x & y

I've searched high and low and can't figure out how to scale a sketch so that the x & y are scaled differently (I can easily do it with them being the same). Any ideas?

Closest I've come is to create a surface and then scale that and then make it go back to a sketch. A royal PITA workaround.
