The specification of chemical composition of SB-511 UNS N08330 (Ni-Fe-Cr-Si Alloy) does not specify of Fe composition just mention Fe remainder. I got a MTR of the above material chemical composition comply but not include the Fe content. But they certify the material is SB-511 UNS N08330. Should I accept the MTR.

Is iron (Fe) listed as balance? If so, accept.

According to SB-511

Footnote B in Table 2

(B) Element shall be determined arithmetically by difference. This refers to Fe.

If it states remainder, the MTR is still acceptable. The iron content can be determined arithmetically by difference.

For elements that are listed as rem, bal or ellipsis (...) there is no specification limits.
