Our office is updating to AutoCad 2004.
Are there any known problems with saving a 2004 dwg as a 2000 dwg?

It is my understanding that the new A2K4 MTEXT, Password .dwg protect, and Digitial Signiture will be invalid when saved to A2K. I really don't know how the TAB and Indent feature in MTEXT will be affected, but I understand that it will change when saved to A2K.

Sounds like this MTEXT problem will affect many for some time to come, because others will not upgrade or do not have the money to upgrade.

Hi,
2-day-experiences:
Gradient fills
You can now create gradient fills. A gradient fill gradually changes one color to another.
In 2000 the filles are monochrome solid-hatches. [cry]

Yes, but gradient fills (and other 2004 new features) survive the round trip and reappear when the drawing is reopened in AutoCAD 2004.

They'll survive the round trip unless they're noodled with in the lower release.
