save as older version-hide planes

Hello.I am a new user to CATIA V5.7 .
I would like to know how to save the model in CATIA V4.22 .
Secondly, I am having trouble making the planes of reference disappear. How do I telli the system not to show the planes.THese white squares hide the model, especially in an assembly.

To save a model for Catia v4 use SaveAs model. You should remember that you cannot to transfer creation history to Catia v4.2.2, only the final Solids or Surface will be transfered.

To hide all planes in v5.7 you can use the Search command.
Edit -> Search -> .Type (Select Planes) -> Click Search button -> Click Select button -> Click OK button
After that you have all planes selected and can hide or show all of them.
In v5.8 this operation is simpler because it has special menu to show or hide entities by type. And it requires only one operation.

Thank you for the planes part.
But, when I do Save As, the only options I get are CATPart, igs, stp,model, etc. There is no option for older versions.
Am I looking in the wrong place ?

There is no option for an older version, because IBM nor Dassault wanted to cut off V5 from V4. I discussed with them on a german exhibition last year. That's the reason why the complete industrial imigration of V5 should take some further years from now.
Remember: TILL NOW THERE IS NO USEFUL DOWNGRADING!!!

As I understood you want to transfer models from Catia v5.7 to Catia v4.22.
Save your Catia V5 part as a .model. Resulting file with extension .model has a native format of geometry for Catia V4. Then open the .model file with V4.22 and save it again.
In documentation for Catia v5.7 (V4 Integration) this operation is described more better.
