SAP2000 Friction Modelling

"How can one model friction between two surfaces (3D or 2D elements) using SAP2000?"
Answer I found online was "Use a gap link"...Can anyone elaborate on this? I was hoping to see if there is any way to model static and dynamic friction given time dependent loading.
