Hello,

I have started to use SAP2000 to solve some beams for a ship and i need an advise regarding the Design Code used in the software. I was trying to verify the resistance of a structure but i see that design code is "aisc 360-10" as default and i wonder which are the main differences between the codes in the software. How is it possible that different codes give different PMM demand/capacity ratio? although the stress in each part of the beam's section is the same, the ratio can vary from 0.9 (with aisc 360-10) to 1.5 (with another one like Eurocodice 3).
How can the parameter involved change so much the analisys?

Thanks in advance.

Please confirm that the buckling strengths are identical, as many differences arise because of buckling lengths variations.
