Sanitary Waste Acetone Detection

I have a need to detect Acetone in the our facility Sanitary waste lines. Our process waste system is treated prior to discharge back to the city.

However, we would like the ability for somewhat continuous monitoring of the Sanitary system for Acetone.

I saw an older 2012 thread that discussed it. At the time, the consensus was that nothing existed to meet the need. I was wondering if anyone had seen an improvement in the availablity of products to meet this need?

IF you have a closed container type arraignment you might be able to add a Lower Explosion Limit detector to the vapor space of the container. Then you could detect gross amounts of acetone in the head space of the container. That is the only way I know that might work for you. I am not sure how long the LEL detector will function in a high humidity environment. I suppose you could also blow compressed air through the stream and try to pick up the Acetone using a gas BTU analyzer but I believe that technology is pretty expensive ($50k)

For our process waste, that's exactly what we have. Vessel with an LEL in the vapor space.

We may have to install vessels on the sanitary waste lines and install the same arrangment.
