what is typical design for expansive clays in light loaded commercial facility...I assume integral gradebeams and slab. Any suggestion for design guide...PT not in the budget or design scope, only rebar. Building is about 100' square with a couple column loads and ligh bearing wall line load. Thanks for any guidance.

PS is a 1" PVR typical design criteria there??? seems like a lot

1" in San Antonio is quite small actually. I think when I worked there I saw 3 to 6" typically.

small? 1" differential movement??

existing soil conditions have 3"-6" movement but will remove and replace top 5' CH layer and have a 1" PVR which I have seen in some other literature and assume thats teh best you can hope for down there without big expense.

Looking for design guidance for slab/beam system. Heard of Slabworks program?
