Dear Sirs,

I would like to know the sizing of brine tank for a 900 liter resin softener.

Resin capacity 900 liters
Water hardness 250 ppm
Salt exchange capacity 55
With this system 200,000 liters can be softened. (correct me if iam wrong) (900*55*1000/255 gives 200,000 liters)
Salt required is 135 kg (1 liter resin can exchange with 150 gm salt. exchange capacity is 55)

i heard 100 liters of water required for 16 kg salt.
So i require around 850 liter brine tank. (135*100/16) equates to 843

Are these calculations correct.

Kindly guide
Thanks,

1 Kg of salt uses just under 3 liters of water to make a saturated brine solution

(135*3/1) equates to 405 liters brine

Salt usage per regeneration:

900l x 135g/l = 12,150g = 12.1kg
