Hey Guys,

What is the purpose of sag rod in steel connection, why it's always be inclined when there is a chance to be straight?

To limit the weak axis bending/deflection of the girts (and purlins). It is installed on a slight diagonal from the line of the beam mainly for convenience during erection (imagine if the installer is inside the structure and have to fix the nut of the rod by wrapping his hand/arm beneath the flange)

Ease of erection, then okay, SO THERE IS NO SPECIAL PURPOSE
