Reaching out to my colleagues to see if any has information on "compentent" person with respect to rockfalls in construction.
OSHA has a definition for treanch safety - we are not doing trenches in the case I am thinking, but we are in narrow deep valleys subjected to rock falls (rain induced, generally loosening, expansion due to temperature, etc) and the Contractor is working in such areas. Are there any guidelines (DOTs etc) that identify what monitoring is to be done at the start of the shift - similar to the OSHA excavation competent person and his requirements.
Would apprciate anyone's information.
