Dear ALL,

I'm optimizing our process and try to reduce stablize crude oil temperature from 56oC to 52oC, can you tell me what does RVP effect? and what's RVP and how to calculate it?

thank yuo very much

The term Reid Vapor Pressure applies to a specific method of measuring vapor pressure at 100 degree F. See ASTM standards such as D 323, Test Method for Vapor Pressure of Petroleum Products or EIS 69, Determination of Vapour Pressure—Reid Method. "The Reid vapor pressure differs from the true vapor pressure of the sample due to some small sample vaporization and the presence of water vapor and air in the confined space."

bottom line the RVP doesn't change if you heat or cool the stream.

If you raised the temperature in the bottom of the stabilizer column 4 degrees, the RVP will drop, if you lower the bottom temp 4 degrees, the RVP will increase
