The problem that I ran across with the run flats over any terrains is slippage and speed. The vehicle that I was driving didn't have self inflatable/deflating tires and it was just a blow out. The outside tire is suppose to protect the rubber run flat and got torn up (I didn't slow down, I thought that the run flat would give me at least the last 40ft I needed to get on the black top again). The thing running through my mind was that if I NEEDED (in a life or death sit) to go further at a speed more than 30mph, neither the two piece nor the rubber insert would give the support needed to take the up the slippage. Off and on since then, I was thinking about maybe adding an inner tube to the rubber insert which would be rated to support a higher speed.
