Round Condensers

Condensers that are part of the Steam/Condensate cycle in a thermal power plant are correctly called "Steam Surface Condensers" (SSCs)
They always have the steam/non condensables on the shellside and the media doing the cooling on the tubeside. The media doing the cooling is typically cooling tower, lake or ocean water.
They are sized and designed to perform as economically as possible over decades of service. Corrosion/erosion on tubeside is always an issue
SSCs may be configured as round, square or fabricated in modules.
Over the years, there have been many, many threads on this forum discussing Steam Surface Condensers
What is your real question or do you just have some idle time that you want to kill ?

Perhaps, "round" steam surface condensers should be more appropriately called "cylindrical" since the main body of the condenser is cylindrical. I have attached an image of a typical "round" or "cylindrical" condenser. Cylindrical condensers are usually shipped fully assembled, and therefore, limited in size due to plate-rolling capabilities and/or shipping restrictions.
Larger steam surface condensers are typically box shaped. These condensers are usually shipped in sections and are field assembled.

You are the one using the term, round condenser .... In what document did you find the term ? .... Did you ask the author of that document ?
