What is the design criteria for designing a high rise window cleaning davit post.

In the US, there are some OSHA requirements relating to minimum strength of anchorage points for scaffolding- included in the sections on construction scaffolding, I believe.

OSHA says anchorage must be 5,000 lbs unless you can prove what the actual load might be. Then you must use a 2:1 safety factor.
