I wonder what affect that will have on PTC. If you go to the PTC website it doesn't look like Mathcad is one of its major products.

Not sure how you would define "major," but it's there the first column, albeit, at the bottom. Note that PTC's other brand names aren't listed in the dropdown, either.
Mathcad was never going to be a major product of anything besides Mathsoft. The big question is why they need the investment, and what does that mean in the long term.
