Hi there, I'm redesigning the suspension on my D sport racer. I'm going to a push rod setup and would like to know if there is a calculator to figure the pivot point dimensions for the rockers. Currently the shock mounts on the lower A arm and joins the chassis at an angle of approc 40deg. Ration is .8:1 (.8 = shock travel) will go for 1:1.
The design I plan to use due to space issues is the same used on the Stohr WF1 D sport cars.

Any help would be much appreacited.
yes I will have to recalculate pushrod travel for the rocker location.

Hello.
It is not quite right with 40 GDR and 0.8 in the ratio. I would like to see a sketch with all dimensions and angles, so we are going right. We would like to keep a total ratio of 1:1 for a pushrod installations. This is a good intersection between the shock absorber travel (damping factor) and its friction, backlash, hysteresis in the liquid etc. Dont forget that the wheelrate is Mr^2.

The angle was just a guess, but the ratio is .8:1 The new system is being designed with the ratio of 1:1. I am setting up the A arms and will be meauring push rod travel to calculate the rocker dimensions. I was just looking for an easy way to calculate the rocker ratio to acheive the 1:1.

I have built a basic string computer to assist in the dimesions.
