About sand filter (and other media-filter) preservation.
What is the correct/best way to "store" rapid pressure filters during stoppages, long and short?
Our water treatment plant manufacturer recommended (but wasn't sure) that we should dewater the filters when they are not in use, but for example in "...water and wastewater treatment" by Ronald L. Droste it is mentioned that the filter bed must not be allowed to dewater.
Feedwater is brackish water and it's disinfected before feeded to the filters.
