Hi,
How would one go about modeling riveted joints of a riveted aluminium sheet monocoque on Solidwork FEA ( or another ) ?? should i use bolts, or simplify by juat surface contact and clamping force ?

If yes how do i calculate clamping fprce of a rivet ?

Thank you

That depends what your FEA model is for. If you are doing fatigue analysis then you either need a much more complex model of the rivet, or else you find the local stresses around a simpler model and then use manual methods.

Cheers
