Hello,

Currently I am dealing with the issue of modeling rivet joint of old bridge beams. I have to model much more complex structure, but I want to understand the work of such connection using simpler example.

So I modeled few different structures to compare results, but when I want to get any solution in the most advanced model I can't obtain them.

The most important parameters:
- L = 4,0 m - span
- H = 0,4 m - beam height
- B = 0,03 m - beam width

- r.r = 0,014 m - rivet's shaft radius
- r.d = 0,015 m - holes radius

- q = 3,333 MPa - load

When I use bonded contact I get solution, but when I want to use Frictional contact I can not get convergence.

I can add other pictures showing different aspects of the model if this helps.
