Hi Every Body

In BFW Services (Inlet Pressure:74 Barg, Desired Discharge Pressure:20 Barg) Due to Control Valve Bypass valve Failure and Leakage, it seems that we must install Ristriction Orifice in bypass line of Control Valve. I want to know that Is it possible or Allowable to install Restriction orifice in control valve bypass line?

I am not experienced when it come to BFW control, but the thing that jumps out at me here is that you are pumping the water up to 74 Barg and then trying to control it down to 20 Barg. It does not surprise me that your control valve has leaked and failed. It would be better to modify your pump to give a more reasonable pressure.

The problem with installing a restriction orifice is that when the flow is zero then so is the pressure drop, and you will have the full pump pressure exerted on the control valve. In general I do not like to put ROs in series with valves.
