Rigid Structure Period

I am designing a tank with leg support, and want to know what is the allowable natural period to ensure stability of the tank. Also, how much lateral sway allowed? Any good references on this topic?

I'd start with AWWA D100-96.
You might want to write a specification with the job requirements and let the tank fabricator do all the design. The larger suppliers have engineering staffs and the smaller one have PE's that they use all the time.
