Can anyone suggest a method to change the default settings for the header and footer in an Excel spreadsheet.

It seems silly to develop so much good information and have to manually revise the header and footer for each individual sheet.

Ideally the method could be revised for change in assignment, client, or project.

Hope this question is suitable for this forum.

Thanks

In Excel you can create your own templates and store them separately from the Excel templates by:

1. Create a standard worksheet containing the "standard"
details you would like it to contain, use headers and
footers from the view menu if you do not want the
information to impinge on the spreadsheet,
2. select saveas from the file menu,
3. select file type as: template,
4. create a new directory using the "new" button on the top
right of the saveas dialog box,
5. give your template a new name,
6. save

When you wish to use the template select new from the file menu and select your templates tab and the template required.
