what are the dependencies that in the pocket Nx7.5,8,8.5 the reference set false/model <> holeseries is used for pocketsdesign from a bolt for example? Looked at a the docs in nx8, found no information.

I like to know how Nx decides to use the boolean options or the holeseries. In the nx 8 doc there says it's controlled by the geometry type ( cylinder -> holeseries, block -> referenceSet->false:subract). I created a assembly (n7.5) contains a part only with a cylinder- using the pocket it still uses the referenceset - why not the holeseries?

Hi,
If you want to create a pocket for the cylinder using Re-usable pocket then you need to create one more solid (actually the pocket is cut out of this)in the same part and then create a reference set False and assign it to the solid you just created.Then when you will import it inside the assembly the pocket for the cylinder (assuming it a bolt or some sort of pin) will be cut using re-usable pocket option using the FALSE reference set solid.I hope i understood your question correctly.

i can only guess, Moldwizard has had the false reference set definition for many years, The hole series was introduced in NX6(?) and maybe written by a completely different team of developers. As said, its a guess.

Hi,
As Toost said this feature is there in MOLD WIZARD for quite some time (the true reference set carries the ejecter pin or like and the false reference set contained the corresponding pocket for it) and re-usable pocket seems to be functioning that way only (you need to create a reference set FALSE and push the cylinder in that reference set in order to get a pocket).

thx on your reply - I thought someone knows the trick to force holeseries. Moldwizard is not interesting doesn't help for a explanation in this case.
