I got an old hydro unit, 2000 kw, with a pilot inductor (dc generator) with the output connected to brush and the main generator rotor... and now, I want to retrofit it, and mount a new AVR, maybe a DECS 200, and with this AVR control the field of the pilot inductor, but the customer ask me for load rejection, he want to have a load rejection and keep the unit working.... and I see the time constants, on unit are great... cause, I got the sum of the dc generator time constant and main generator time constant for deexcitation, and maybe i could have a problem when i loose the load...and maybe i got a overvoltage, cause we change avr to work from PF control to volts control
What could be a good solution?

yes, maybe you mean resistance between the A-B terminals on the dinamo (output) and the terminals of the bushes, with this point we solve maybe the constant time of the dinamo, but the problem is on the generator flux, cause i got the core near saturation, and then, i lost the load, we think i have a reactance on the output of the generator Xd, and then i take out, and the voltage will increase.
I ask if somebody have some idea, or have been with this problem on past.
thanks a lot
