Restore labels of section views

Hi,

One of my colleages came across some Solidworks drawings where labels of section views are missing. Apparently, they were removed (accidentally?) by authors of the documents. Is there a way to restore these labels other than recreating the section views again?

Try selecting the view, then go to the feature tree area and give it a new letter. See if this gives it a new label. Sometimes this works for me.

Chris's solution definitely works 'some' of the time. Fortunately, when it doesn't work, I don't mind re-doing it (it's never not worked in more than 2 instances). But, but... I'm hoping for a real solution as well.

For simple parts or assemblies, it is not a big deal to recrate section views. But for section views where there are lots of dimensions, GD&T, and notes, I am also hoping for a real solution.

The label views won't be dynamic, but you can use this macro to quickly add new labels:

But labels this macro creates are fake. I have been trying to minize "fake" stuffs on SW documents.

Yup, they are fake. However, SolidWorks has some strange code associated with view labels, so if you are having issues with it (as many people do), this is for you. It can also be used to supplement those standard labels (since editing them to add a line can be hairy).
