Resource pool

Hi,
If I have a resource pool (shared for a number of files)and I look at the resource usage, how can I tell which resource is from which file ?

I have a similar problem:
I would like to look at resources for a single project, but since they are tied into the Resource Pool of a big master project file, I can not figure out a way to see the breakdown for each separate project file. Does my question make any sense?
You should know, if you cant tell, that I am basically a Project Moron.

I'm not sure if I understand your problem. Resource Pool is a separate project file that include resources for all the projects. So every resource is from Pool file. However if you need a possibility to use some of the resources from resource pool I would generally suggest trying Project Server it will solve this (and many more problemy that you probably encountered working in multin project environment).

I have many projects that all share the same resource pool. I want to see how many hours Joe Blow is committed to for one of the project files. Can I open the resouce pool and look at Joe Blow's time broken down on a per-project basis? Or is there a way to open just the project file and look at a Joe's hours in there?

Within the Resource Usage View, you can insert the column called Project.

You will now be able to see your list of resources, the projects (files) they are assigned to, the tasks within each project as well as the Start, Finish, and Work associated with each task.

You can even go one step farther. There is another field you can add called Task Summary Name that will pull in the Summary Task for each task within each project.
