Dear Eng Tips,

A while ago, I saw a detail that showed how to give yourself more tolerance when fitting finished steel products to concrete (mainly st/steel balustrades). This involved making an over sized hole in the base plate, then having a washer with a hole in it that allowed you to inject resin (hilti) into the hole and around the stud.
I cant remember where i saw this but I'm certain it was in a British Standard, or steel designers manual or one of the 100's of books I read during my masters.
There is a company & website that do this ( but I'm sure I saw somewhere else before. Hilti do there own version called 'Hilti Dynamic Set', but again im sure I've seen it somewhere before!
I need this to prove that it is a recognized and suitable detail. Would anyone be able to help with the original source of this design?

Many Thanks
Dan
