Hi, I'm looking to get some clarification regarding roof truss bracing requirements for residential construction in Ontario, Canada. There seems to be some debate regarding the proper bracing requirements according to the bracing details I've been looking at.
The bracing details indicate that all pitch breaks and perimeter corners must be laterally restrained. To me if the trusses bottom chord is dry walled and the top chord is sheathed this would meet this requirement, correct? All the pitch breaks are along the top chord, wouldn't 1/2'' plywood meet this condition. Other opinions indicate that in order for the truss to be laterally restrained 2x4 blocking should be installed at these specific locations.
