I would like to know what kind of tests should be done on Soil for residential footing design.

for the dead and live loads Roof: 32LL / 15DL PSF , Walls : 0LL/160 Dead PLF, Floor is 40LL/15Dead PSF.

I know there should be a Sulfate test. What other tests do i need to do??

Make sure that there is no clay in the soil.

I'm confused. Is this for wood footings? If not, you might get better results in the geotech or foundation forums.

Tests that you SHOULD run on a residential foundation are the same as those you should run on a commercial foundation. The soil doesn't know the difference between residential and commercial and neither do the materials of construction. Yes, I know that for residential work you have to be cost conscious, but engineering is the same for either.

Agree with hokie66...other forums would be more appropriate.
