Hi everyone,

I'm currently working on solid plate model with FEMAP/Nastran.
The goal is to observe the tip and tilt behavior of the plate (ROTX, ROTY, ROTZ).

Model setup:
  • Solid elements (e.g., HEXA elements)
  • RBE3 connections ( 4 independent node at the plate corners)
  • Massless CONM2 (used only to define DOFs for output purposes, dependent node)

Question:
  • In this setup, is it valid to interpret the ROTX and ROTY values at the CONM2 as the average rotational motion of the plate?

Any insight or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
