Hi,

First of all, I would like to thank all the valuable forum users who respond to every question I ask. Thanks to you, I’ve made good progress regarding fatigue.

I had asked a short question about the fatigue analysis of composites. After doing a bit more research, I’ve gathered some information. I’ve come to the conclusion that fatigue analysis can be performed using stiffness degradation, although not in the same way as with metals.

My goal here is the following: First, I want to determine whether matrix damage or fiber damage occurs — and in which layers — by applying tension to a composite shell plate with a hole in the middle. Then, by applying stiffness degradation, I aim to identify after how many cycles the initial damage begins to form. Can I perform this in Ansys? There's a setting called ‘Progressive Damage’ in ACP-Pre, but frankly, I didn’t quite understand it.

If you have any work related to this, could you please share it?
