Reporting part/sub-assembly qty

Hello,
The drawing format that my company uses has the part and
sub-assembly quantities shown below the views for those
parts/sub-assemblies. We use a custom index called "DET"
short for "detail" in our BOM tables.

I am trying to find a way to report how many of a given
"DET" part/sub-assembly is used in the top level model.
I'm thinking there may be some parameter syntax that
allows you to pull quantites from the top level assembly
and report that elsewhere.
