Replacing parts in assemblies and drawings

Does anyone know if there is a command or function that solid works has built in which allows you to replace parts within drawings?

yes...

When you go to open the drawing through SolidWorks, select the references button before you actually click open. This will pop up the references window and it will list the part file that your drawing is referencing. You can double click on the file(s) in the list and browse for a replacement.

SolidWorks Explorer also has a Replace function.
