Hi guys,

I am required to design a steel pipe support of a chilled water pipe which is currently supported by concrete (like a pedestal) elevated around 500MM from the finish floor level. Is there any guidelines how to design a saddle steel support for the chilled water pipe.

I appreciate your opinions in these subject matter. thanks

Make sure it has a provision for longitudinal movement (preferably a roller)...outside that, it's just the weight of the pipe and the liquid...and if outside, wind load.

There are pre-fabricated pipe supports with load ratings provided by the manufacturer.
