This has come up before but I have forgotten how to renumber faces and edges. I have an IGES model that has been cleaned up and prepared for mould splitting. There are about 1700 faces on the part but I have done so much stitching and cleaning that the edge numbers and face numbers are know in the billions. I am sure this is slowing the computer down as It takes a lot longer to refresh the screen, update commands etc now than when I started.

There is a way to reduce the numbering but I have forgotten.

I have tried joining the part to an empty new part but no luck, any ideas?

Not aware of a way to renumber the faces, although exporting to IGES and re-importing will have the same effect.

If you're carrying all the history of your "cleaning" operations that will certainly slow things down, deleting the history will help. ie /mo de in the prompt window (within Master Modeller).

I only suggest this since there's little point in retaining the history of surface cleanup operations.

Hope it helps.
