I have a part with 30 different configurations. I want to drive their colors by way of the design table. In order to do this i have to remove all colors from each configuration one at a time even if i select all configurations in the color menu. Am i doing something wrong?

thx

Check out the macro called face colors.....it removes all faces colors and resets them to default part color

rjason71,

I have not hacked with this a lot. The $COLOR heading in the design table allows you to set the colour of a configuration. I would have thought this was the configuration colour. You can create separate columns for red, green and blue, and use these values to calculate $COLOR.

There are lots of other ways to set colours. Is it possible somebody set feature colours, active in one configuration only? This would be an excellent way to create havoc for you.

Are your configurations driven completely by the design table? If so, you can open the table and insert a blank line right below the first configuration. When you exit the table, all the other configurations will be deleted.

When you open the table, delete the blank line, then exit again, your configurations will be restored, minus any weird stuff anyone has done to them.

Each suggestion has worked fine. Is there a way to add an additional color callout in the design table? The more I use the DT's the more I crave additional parameters that I guess dont exist as an option.

I think this works for the part only. Is there a way to set color specific to, lets say, a feature and have it table driven?

You can set feature specific colours (Tools > Options > Document Properties > Colors) but I don't believe they can be controlled by a DT.

rjason71,

The $COLOR header on the design table allows you to set the colour separately for each configuration. What do you mean by an "additional colour callout"?
