Remote Monitoring Units - pipeline application

I am wondering if anyone has had any experience with remote monitoring untis used to monitor rectifiers for providing CP to pipelines. Any anecdotal information, successes or common problems in general or on specific manufacturers would be appreciated. Thanks.
