Please advise, is re-mineralization of desalinated water with "H2SO4 dosing & calcite filters" a normal industry practice? What are the limitations and advantages? What is industry standard for treated potable water LSI regulation?

Further, Can anyone advise who can assist with this design of Re-mineralization plant, preferably limestone filters. This is required to produce potable water downstream of a desalination unit.

H2SO4 is not normally used.

Four solutions are widely used to remineralize desalinated water:
[ol 1]
[li]Blend with 1% clarified seawater + pH neutralization[/li]
[li]CO2 addition + Calcite Limestone (CaCO3, MgO) percolation + Na2CO3[/li]
[li]CO2 addition + Dolomite Limestone (CaCO3, MgCO3) percolation + Na2CO3[/li]
[li]Addition of CaCl2 + NaHCO3[/li]
[/ol]
