Hi,

I like to know how to use re-meshing an especially ALE methods. I'm using ABAQUS/Explicit.

I got a plate of an Aluminium alloys with a hole in the center. A solid rigid body (tool) made by two cylinder penetrates it in a first step: here no probleme. Then the tool is rotating and heating the plate. After that, the tool is still rotating but also translating. Here the problem occurs. If i use re-meshing, the mesh under the tools gets smallest (what i want) but the thickness of the element gets very small so when the translation begins the element is compressed and became like a shell. SO after a little time the calculation crashes down because of distorsion.

How can i solve this problem? Is it possible to impose some conditions on re-meshing in order to have not too thin elements?
