Is it usual to have to reinstall Microstation and/or Geopak on a regular basis (once or twice a month) or are there better ways of solving problems quickly and effectively.

If you have to reinstall them on a regular basis, there's something seriously wrong. Do you have to reinstall the operating system on a regular basis as well? I've seen one case of having to reinstall Microstation and that was because a shareware screensaver program was doing strange things to the operating system's .dll files and such. As a result, Microstation wouldn't run. But that was a one-shot.
