Relevant API Standard for a Diesel valve train

Hi All,
We are designing and building a new diesel valve train to feed oil to a furnace. What would be the most relevant API standard for pipe design and installation such as flanges Vs. threads, pipe pressure rating, etc...
I did a search on API site and found API RP 14E "Recommended Practice for Design and Installation of Offshore Products Platform Piping Systems", but the furnace is for a steel plant, not an offshore platform.

Why API?

You would be far better using ASME B 31.3 and associated codes as listed in it.

I'm not sure there's anything like what you describe to advise on those issues. A good piping design manual might be a better idea or use someone who has experience in this area.

I think the ASME B 31.3 is very helpful and fits the purpose.
I've already got the NFPA standards and they are good, but I was more looking for a standard that focuses on the mechanical side of pipe design.

No, this is not fire protection, but "pipe design" for systems. B31.3 as recommended above.
