Hi,
We are using a pr5225a2 unit. It has to relay outputs. My question is why would we put this output into another relay to interface with the DCS. Could we not just connect it directly?

Thanks

What is the reason for your question?
Cannot see any reason why you shouldn't keep it simple.

Half full - Half empty? I don't mind. It's what in it that counts.

We use the Pr5225A2 as a speed monitor but what has been done before is that the relay output of the monitor goes into another relay before going to the dcs and im not really sure why?

thanks

From the data sheet, the relay output seems to be a solid-state device (transistor switch) instead of a dry contact. Often, a DCS digital input can't deal with that. Plus, there may be grounding issues that require isolation between the two units.

Best to you,

Goober Dave
