Hello All,

I'm in the process of designing an oxidation ditch for a job that I am working on. I'm relatively new to this subject and have only designed smaller tanks based on PCA tables etc.

The Oxidation ditch is 3.7m x 16m x 52m (incl curved walls) with a dividing wall in the middle. It is only partially buried (1m on one side and 2m on the other). It located on made ground but ground improvement can be considered.

I am designing the walls as cantilever retaining walls but I am at a loss as to how to design the base? I am looking for advice from more experienced engineers as to the common methods for the design of a structure of this sort and also some of the structural issues I will need to consider?

Your help with this will be much appreciated.

Thanks,
