Reinforce Existing Concrete Structure

I am looking at an existing concrete building built in the 1920's. The new live load will be 100 psf. Floor system is conventional reinforced concrete. I am looking into methods for reinforcing the existing beams, the slab is ok. Does anyone have any advice on external post tensioning? Possibly suggested reading materials.

I think you will have shear problems too that may not be solved by external prestressing. The added axial load on the beams does increase your [φ]V_c a bit but probably not enough.

Sometimes adding steel beams below, or beside, the existing concrete beams is an option.

We use this pretty often on bridge structures built over many decades ago so as to get some more service life from them.
