Hi guys,

Quite new to the engineering game and am a little unsure as to how the certifying process works. Let's say i design a job but another RBP signs off on the job in order to get the building permits, does the person who signed off on the job take 100% responsibility for the design if something goes wrong? Does the actual engineer not take any blame? If anyone can shed some light on this that would be much appreciated.

Dont know about Australia, but the general idea around the world is
the guy that signs/stamps the drawings and who's registration number
is normally the guy in the firing line and the company that he works for
is liable in a civil case.
